caterpillar cake

I have taken it upon myself to make fancy birthday cakes for my little friend Hannah. Her first birthday her parents beat me to the punch and got her a sheet cake. This years birthday I was in London. Being that she is four... I have only made her two cakes so far... this was the second.

The Caterpillar Cake was a little more hodge podge. I used mixing bowls to bake the sections... no over priced MS pan this time.

The touch that makes the cake look really finished is the fondant. I bought store fondant as a lump, added food coloring and rolled it out to drape over each 'pillar section. He had candy dot bumps and licorice antenae.
